Recently, we lost our beloved husky, Wisky. She came into our lives as a playful little puppy with the brightest blue eyes, full of energy and love. She had a unique way of looking at us — soft, jolly, and filled with affection. She loved being pampered, sitting beside us when we ate, and greeting us with boundless enthusiasm.
But illness took her away too soon. Like so many pet owners, we faced the heartbreaking reality of watching a companion suffer silently. Pets cannot always express when something is wrong, and by the time we notice, it can often be too late.
This experience left us with a burning question: Can technology help us prevent other pets from suffering in silence?
🤖 Where Robotics Meets Compassion
As engineers, innovators, and educators, we know the power of robotics and embedded systems. Arduino boards, microcontrollers, and sensors are not just tools for hobby projects — they can save lives, monitor environments, and create real impact.
We asked ourselves: What if we could design a system that continuously monitored a pet’s health and alerted owners in time?
This is how the idea for the Pet Health Monitoring System using ATmega328P was born.
🐾 The Pet Health Monitoring System (Inspired by Wisky)
The concept is simple, yet powerful:
A wearable belt or band for pets, built around the ATmega328P microcontroller.
Equipped with sensors to track:
🌡 Body Temperature
❤️ Heartbeat/Pulse Rate
🏃 Activity & Movement
Data is processed in real-time and sent via Bluetooth/Wi-Fi to the owner’s phone.
If abnormal readings are detected, the owner receives an instant alert, so action can be taken immediately.
This system ensures that pets never suffer unnoticed. It gives owners peace of mind and adds years of healthy companionship to the lives of pets like Wisky.
